WHAT IS CH’OPERA?
Ch’Opera is the less formal division of Charleston Opera Theater that encompasses many of our community events, performances, activities, education and outreach. Ch’Opera’s mission is two-fold. The first is to de-mystify the world of opera by exposing a larger cross section of the community to the art form and allowing access that will foster a new passion for it.
The second, to serve the audience that already loves opera with entertaining, immersive and meaningful events, all while maintaining the creativity and quality for which Charleston Opera Theater is known. Feeding the soul of our community, finding the common bonds of the human spirit and bringing intense, shared emotions to our audiences…THAT is Ch’Opera!
